Powered dental equipment electrical or battery operated. Ultrasonic scaler, sonic scaler and rotosonic scaler are used to remove calcular deposit. Electric micromotor is use for drilling and polishing. An air driven high speed dental unit has same use as the electric motor. Under high speed dental units are the high speed handpiece, air and water syringe, slow speed handpiece and compressor.

Dental burs are used to slice tissue, cut bone or tooth. Dental burs can be; long straight shank, latch type shank, friction grip shank round or pearl headed, crosscut tapered fissure and the finishing bur.
As technology progress same goes with the dental equipment used in the treatment of animals.
